Storage as a Service comes a step closer

People used to buy their storage systems but now they’re more likely to rent them, it appears, with WebHouse forging a technology alliance with Zadara Storage to start allowing clients storage in the cloud rather than on-premise.

This continues the trend in the IT industry overall to cloud technology and multi-tenanted arena allowing for faster growth through hiring space as it’s needed.

According to the 451 Research 2016 Storage Outlook report, organisations’ top three storage pain points are dealing with data/capacity growth, capacity planning/forecasting; and the high cost of CapEx storage. The alliance between these two organisations will allow companies to overcome these points.

“WebHouse is an excellent addition to the Zadara family,” said Bob Sarubbi, vice president of Americas sales and strategic alliances at Zadara Storage in a statement. “WebHouse has built their business on creating strong customer relationships through focusing on results. We are excited to align WebHouse and Zadara Storage to bring industry leading storage services to a market that is moving from the rigid world of traditional CapEx storage to the Wlexible world of OpEx Storage-as-a-Service solutions.”
