You’ll soon be able to mulitask while working on Google Docs on your iPad

Business people (and busy people) everywhere welcomed last week’s announcement from Apple of the arrival of multitasking on its tablets.

If you’re using a iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 or an iPad Pro then you will soon be able to use multiple apps at once, side-by-side, with the arrival of iOS 9.

One bonus is that now users will be able to play videos alongside whatever else they’re doing, although perhaps not great news for your battle with productivity.

Of particular interest to those using their tablets for work is that Google Docs, Sheets and Slides will now be available for use simultaneously, making cross-referencing and multitasking generally much easier.

The update on Google’s part represents a further expansion into the corporate market, competing with Microsoft to be the business tools provider of choice.

Gmail is a long-time leader in the free email market after establishing itself in 2004 and now boasts over 900 million active users to Outlook’s 400 million.
