French IT services giant Atos has joined forces with Google Cloud to launch its first artificial intelligence lab. The lab is based in the company’s London offices and has been designed to create a space for its clients to build cutting-edge business solutions with the assistance of experts in AI.
The lab represents the latest collaboration between the two companies. Atos is a major supplier of enterprise-grade IT in the UK, and has won tens of millions of pounds worth of public sector deals over the last few years. Google Cloud, meanwhile, recently listed on the government’s G-Cloud framework for the first time and is seeking to gain ground on the two market leaders, Amazon and AWS. Its execs hope the collaboration will encourage more organisations to adopt its cloud services.
“The new AI labs from Atos will be a valuable resource for European businesses wanting to take advantage of Google Cloud AI capabilities,” said Paul Emsley-Martin, head of UK partnerships at Google Cloud. “This is a great next step in our partnership with Atos, and we are delighted to continue working with Atos to bring Google Cloud AI, infrastructure, machine learning and collaboration tools to enterprises worldwide.”
“The opening of this first AI Lab marks a new era in enterprise transformation and opportunity,” added Adrian Gregory, CEO, Atos UK & Ireland. “In combining the advanced capabilities of Atos and Google Cloud AI technology, organizations will have access to compelling solutions acting as a springboard to growth in an evolving, digitally focused marketplace.”
