This is the latest instalment of a weekly feature analysing the UK’s biggest public sector IT deals. In partnership with data analysis firm Tussell, we’ve drilled down into the top ten most valuable tenders and awards from the previous fortnight, and taken stock of which tech firms have won the biggest share of the public sector pie.
The top 10 biggest tenders
The top 10 biggest tenders of the last two weeks amount to a massive £169m. The North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative’s tender might appear to be the biggest, but it actually represents a framework for a raft of deals. The biggest single contract of the fortnight is the University of Manchester’s £41m tender for end user computing services. The university wants to implement Windows 10 and Office 365. Companies have until 30 April to apply.
Another interesting item is Transport for the North’s £1.2m tender for an integrated smart travel hub, which appears to leverage open data in the same way that Transport for London uses it in the capital. Firms have until 9 April to apply.
