Oracle extends autonomous capabilities across its cloud platform

Enterprise IT giant Oracle is set to extend its autonomous capabilities across its cloud platform, CTO Larry Ellison announced today.

The firm’s autonomous capabilities are currently confined to its Autonomous Database but are being expanded to data management, app development, integration and analytics among other services. It said the move would help customers reduce costs and risk while accelerating innovation.

Thomas Kurian, Oracle’s product chief, said that end-to-end automation would be the future for enterprise IT companies: “We are weaving autonomous capabilities into the fabric of our cloud to help customers safeguard their systems, drive innovation faster, and deliver the ultimate competitive advantage with smarter real-time decisions.”

Self-learning chatbots, automated artification discovery and machine learning-driven user and entity behaviour analytics are among the applications of the firm’s new autonomous capabilities.
