NHSX, the tech unit tasked with overseeing the health service’s digital transformation, has launched a recruitment drive for senior policy officials.
The unit announced on Thursday (25 September) that it is hiring ten grade-seven policymakers in Leeds and London, offering salaries of up to £62,826. The roles cover a range of policy areas from technology and cyber security to strategy, implementation and data.
Launched just over a year ago, NHSX has played a critical role in building the tech response to Covid-19. The organisation, which has been charged with developing the contact tracing app that launched yesterday, has rapidly expanded since the start of the pandemic.
As well as seconding civil servants from other parts of government, including the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation, NHSX has hired a CIO, CDO and CTO since the start of the year as it builds out its team.
According to the job ad, the unit is seeking to develop “a robust framework of standards and platforms to support local digitisation. This will provide the necessary building blocks for the health and care system to get the most out of digital, data and technology for citizens.”
The deadline for applications is 11:55 pm on Sunday 4 October 2020. Find out more here.
