The lowdown: GDS is looking to pay consultants £4m to provide a range of services supporting new digital projects across Whitehall. As part of the deal, the successful bidder will be tasked with providing data science services and helping to build agile multidisciplinary teams. Enlisting tech consultants to work on time-constrained digital, data and tech projects is becoming increasingly common in central government. The practice was trialled during last year’s Brexit preparations and has been revived during the coronavirus crisis.
