The lowdown: Joint Forces Command has unveiled plans to spend at least £100m on a contract supporting its existing geospatial intelligence system. The service provides imagery, maps, charts and other geographical data to the army, airforce and navy. Although there’s currently no application deadline, it’s expected that a deal will have been struck by September this year.

The lowdown: The IT recruitment agency LA International has secured one of the largest individual awards of the week: a deal to provide “digital capability” experts to the Government Digital Service on a short-term basis. Little is known about what the team will be working on, but the practice of parachuting developers and designers into Whitehall departments at short notice was first trialled during last year’s Brexit preparation work.
