Title: Tender for software and technical support for electronic warfare systems
The lowdown: The Ministry of Defence has issued the largest individual tender of the week: a £100m contract for an electronic warfare system. The notice states: “‘The Authority’ has a requirement for a through-life integrator to procure, integrate, modify and provide through-life software and other technical support to an agile, modular, flexible suite of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Electronic Countermeasures (ECM).” As NS Tech revealed in October, the MoD agreed to pay IBM nearly £4m to develop a prototype military software platform powered by artificial intelligence earlier this year.
