The week in govtech: the biggest tenders and awards (20/11)

This is the latest instalment of an exclusive series analysing the UK’s biggest public sector tech deals. In partnership with data analysis firm Tussell, we drill down into the top five most valuable tenders and awards from the previous week, and take stock of which tech firms have won the biggest share of the public sector pie.

Top five tenders

This week’s tenders are dominated by multi-million pound police contracts. The biggest of them all comes from the East Midlands Strategic Commercial Unit, which is seeking a police ICT partner to manage a network of resellers, equipment manufacturers and software vendors on behalf of police forces across the country. The deal is worth £500m and lasts nearly a decade. Bidders have until 21 December to apply.

Top five awards

The Cabinet Office has revealed its latest system for public sector procurement of payment solutions; a £10bn framework listing all of the “big four banks”, and six other payment providers. The contract was awarded on 24 October, but the notice was only published last week. It will remain in place for four years.
