The week in govtech: the biggest tenders and awards (24/10)

This is the latest instalment of an exclusive series analysing the UK’s biggest public sector tech deals. In partnership with data analysis firm Tussell, we drill down into the top five most valuable tenders and awards from the previous week, and take stock of which tech firms have won the biggest share of the public sector pie.

Top five tenders

Three tenders this week come in at £20m or more. Arguably the most eye-catching is the NHS’s tender for an e-rostering platform in Scotland. The contract notice outlines the rationale behind the project:

We need to ensure that we deploy [our] workforce in a way that most effectively meets the needs of patients; we need to ensure that our staff have access to information about their working patterns that enable them to manage their working lives, including accessing additional shifts in an easy and intuitive way; we need our rostering systems to be capable of operating across traditional NHSBoard boundaries.

The deal is worth exactly £20m and will run for seven years. Prospective suppliers have until 15 November to submit their bids.
