Top five tenders
The Post Office is searching for a series of suppliers to support the delivery of a £357m automation programme. “This procurement is for the provision of transaction processing, managed services and hardware for the automation of a proportion of 11,500 Post Office branches,” the notice states. “Solutions will depend upon the demands of each branch and a number of demographics such as geographic location and cash in/outflow.”
The contract has been divided into five lots, including ATM switching, fraud and security solutions, cash management, self-service hardware and teller cash automation supply. Vendors have until 11 March to submit their bids.

Prior Information Notices
This week’s biggest PIN comes from HS2, which is considering procuring an engineering management system to help staff remotely monitor railway infrastructure. The contract itself could be worth as much as £50m, but before HS2 issues a formal notice, it is calling on prospective suppliers to answer a pre-market engagement questionnaire.

Top five awards
IBM has landed one of the single biggest deals of the week: a £16m contract to supply the Land Registry with operating software for its mainframe estate, in addition to support for a range of existing software products. The deal was inked at the start of the month and will remain in place for just over four years.
